Massive’ is a messy queer love story about the chase to be perfect and the ugly things we do in the attempt to be beautiful for someone. It’s unapologetically poetic, working class, queer and quick.

Audience Reviews: Intense and poetic! Felt very real and honest…Charlie Josephine explores gender, sexuality and the obsession with perfection….I cannot recommend this audio play highly enough. It is refreshing to listen to a queer story that is so nuanced: beautiful, angry, messy, erotic. Charlie Josephine’s writing is visceral and, at times, brutal, and all three actors give outstanding performances...A gripping and beautiful and complex story that took me by surprise and kept me hooked to the last second. I loved the exploration of gender, sexuality and desire. Stunning, deep performances from all actors….Beautiful work! Absolutely stunning piece of audio theatre. Thank you. Moving and powerful writing. Stunning performances too. I loved it!

Personal: What was hard: Writing in this medium for the first time, for ears not eyes. Practicing patience, this piece has been growing for years. What I’m most proud of: The creative teams hard graft and passion for the work. I’m proud that something I wrote ignited that within them, especially during a global pandemic. Of my recovery. Of my queerness, of the queer love that inspired these words. I’m really proud of what we made and so grateful for this experience. What I learnt: So much about writing for audio. Learnt loads from Mikhail about seeing through our ears.
