‘One Of Them Ones

I am so proud to take this trans and queer play on tour to rural venues. Because queerness ain’t just for the city! Culture changes culture. We are changed by hearing people’s story, so I’m excited to share this one.

‘One Of Them Ones’ is a new play about two siblings living in a rural community, trying to get their heads around gender identity. It’s funny and tender and sticky-messy-honest.

I have written some thoughts on making ‘queer’ work in ‘straight’ venues here.

Thank you All About Trans and Gendered Intelligence for your collaboration and support.

Personal: What was hard: Not being able to be in rehearsals, due to a busy schedule, and so missing out on all the fun! What I’m most proud of: The response to this play has been so beautiful! People feeling uplifted by it, and inspired to act with empathy and kindness. I’m really proud of the creative teams courage and playfulness. What I learnt: That the Terfs really are just a small but loud group of people. The majority of people are kind, are open to learning and loving.
